Irina Vdovets was the only two-time U.S. Olympic rhythmic gymnastics coach, named in 1988 and 1992. She coached the U.S. World Championships Team four times— 1985, 1987, 1989 and 1991— and was a U.S. national team coach 11 years. During her career, Vdovets coached numerous rhythmic Olympians including Michele Berube, Jenifer Lovell and Diane Simpson-Bundy. In 1986-87, Vdovets was honored as the U.S. Rhythmic Coach of the Year. After her coaching tenure, Vdovets became program director at Illinois Rhythmics.
