A former physical education teacher in Allentown, Pa., Donna Strauss coached and administered all levels of athletes with husband Bill over the course of her successful career. The two started the Parkettes Gymnastics Training Center in Allentown, Pa., which began as an after-school intramural club and quickly turned into a world-class training center that developed and fostered world class athletes. Donna coached the USA Women’s National Team in 1999 with Bill, which came 11 years after coaching the U.S. Women’s Olympic Team. Donna and Bill were named USA Women’s Gymnastics Coaches of the Year twice, 1998 USOC Women’s Gymnastics Coaches of the Year and they earned the Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Woman’s Sports Foundation of Lehigh Valley in 1996.
