Ben Price was an inaugural Hall of Fame inductee in 1959 because of his work as a gymnastics pioneer in Southern California. He most notably coached the 1925 National AAU Champion Los Angeles Athletic Club, but also assisted the U.S. Olympic Team to a silver medal in the 1932 Los Angeles Games. During his career, Price is credited to coaching almost 20 National AAU Champions as well as 10 Olympians.
