For six years, Louis Mang’s Navy teams made clean sweeps of all competition in the Intercollegiate Gymnastics League, winning league titles each year and causing the division to eventually disperse due to the team’s supremacy. He coached 26 years, posting a 146-12 overall record in dual meets, including 22 undefeated teams. Mang, a Hall of Fame inaugural class member, was a master of the rope climb, and he innovated techniques that kept Navy at the top of collegiate competition throughout his career.
