Newt Loken coached 36 years at the University of Michigan where his teams posted a 250-72-1 record in dual meets and two NCAA Championships and 12 Big Ten Conference Titles and a .776 win percentage. Loken’s teams won 71 Big Ten titles and had 21 NCAA individual champions. As an athlete at the University of Minnesota, he served as captain and won two NCAA and four Big Ten individual titles. A published author and USGF Master of Sports Award-winner, Loken is a Helms Hall of Fame member and University of Michigan Hall of Honor inductee.
