Jake Geier was a Nebraska Cornhusker. A former competitor for the school, Geier took over the program as head coach in 1950 where he coached for 20 years. In his tenure, he compiled a 127-55 record that was highlighted with an undefeated 1960 season, a Big Eight title in the conference’s inaugural year which led to 20 total conference championships. In addition to coaching, Geier also served on the NCAA Rules Committee and co-founded the US Gymnastic Federation.
