A product of the University of Nebraska gymnastics program, Phil Cahoy was a member of the U.S. National Team from 1978 – 1987. He led the Cornhuskers to the NCAA Champions team title all four years he competed for the university (1980, 1981, 1982, 1983). He is a ten-time NCAA All-American and four-time NCAA Event Champion. While competing on the U.S. National Team, he represented the USA at the 1986 Goodwill Games and the 1978, 1981, 1983 and 1985 World Championships. He also was named to the 1980 U.S. Olympic Team. He earned his B.S. in biological sciences and his M.D. graduate degree at the University of Nebraska. He completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin’s Division of Orthopedics, Department of Surgery. Cahoy completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Department of Orthopedics, University of Missouri-Kansas City and with the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs, the latter where he’s currently serving as their Orthopedic Consultant. Cahoy resides in Grand Island, Nebraska, and is a doctor in the Grand Island Orthopedics & Sports Medicine practice. He and wife Diana have three children, Courtney, Steven and Kevin.
